As anybody who follows me on twitter knows, I'm motivated by the mantra #JFDI. I believe in moving fast, taking calculated risks, and putting yourself and your company out there. I live for the excitement of the first 20% of the project and have the drive to push through the final 20% to get products shipped. I believe in perfectionism when it matters, and laziness in the right ways. Most importantly I believe in people and I put my team and my customers first.

Alex & Eli is a fantastic women's fashion brand located in NYC. I was drawn to this company because of their creativity, scrappy nature, and honest focus on quality in everything they do. This is a team that really groks lean startup principles in an industry that has never heard of boot strapping or agile.
I came onboard to help redefine the
e-commerce vision, and launch stage one of their new web presence. What resulted was a fascinating look into the inner workings of the NYC fashion scene and a manufacturing based web-business.

In late 2007 we new something big was coming. The iPhone had just launched, and the age of the smartphone was on the horizon. We had a hunch early on that GPS would be there, and the app technology would soon make crazy things possible. Believing this, we started developing AccelGolf (formerly mCaddie), a mobile replacement for the golf scorecard, rangefinder, and club house. After an amazing development run we had a social network that integrated with iPhone, Blackberry, and Android mobile applications. The AccelGolf platform was one of the first to market with mobile phone based range-finding, scorecards, and improvement-based statistics.
2009 was a big year; we were awarded the prestigious Maine Technology Institute development award to help fund the company, and were invited to participate in the TechStars Boston Inaugural program. TechStars was a thrilling opportunity that taught me life long lessons about diligence, hard work, and perseverance. We capitalized on TechStars by scaling from 3k to 75k active users and raising over $700k in angel investment.
